In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the
Armistice for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front between
the Allies of World War I and Germany, we have a post written by one of
our Archivists, Helena Hilton, that reflects on the lasting effects that
the war was to have on families. This blog looks at how the Waifs and
Strays Society sought to assist the families of former soldiers scarred
by the effects of war.
