Free advice guide: Settling into a care home

Moving
into a care home can be a time of stress and anxiety for older people
and their family and friends. It can feel like a big change and will
inevitably require some adjustment.

Older people’s charity, Independent Age, have launched a new
free advice guide for older people and their families and friends. Settling into a care home offers
advice about preparing to move into a care home, ways to ensure the
transition is as smooth as possible, and how residents can settle in
after the move.

Suggestions and stories from care home residents, relatives
and staff about their experiences are included throughout.
