Challenge Demcare is an exciting programme of research led by Professor Esme Moniz-Cook, consultant clinical psychologist at Humber NHS Foundation Trust and honorary professor of Dementia Research at the University of Hull, and funded by the National Institute of Health Research. The programme has developed an interactive computer system to assist mental health workers to support family carers and to help staff in care homes to provide a better quality of life for people with dementia. It is hoped the interactive system will also reduce stress levels for the mental health workers and care home staff themselves.
