Teaching Care Homes

Building on the successful Teaching Care Homes Pilot Programme, FoNS, in
partnership with Care England and the Burdett Trust for Nursing, is
delighted to announce that it is recruiting a further 5 care homes.

The programme involves:

  • Three representatives from each home, the Home Manager, a Registered Nurse and a Care Worker will be the leads from each home (all care homes welcome)
  • Six workshop days focusing on person-centredness,
    leadership and team-working, learning, innovation and improvement –
    dates between March 2018 and February 2019
  • Mentorship and on-site support from a FoNS Practice Development Facilitator to support the home to work on a specific area of improvement
  • A small practice improvement bursary

Please note:

  • Organisational sponsorship is required/essential
  • At present the programme is only available to care homes in England

The Residential Forum is to promote the achievement of high standards of care and support for children and adults living in residential care and nursing homes, supported housing, residential schools and colleges, hospices and hostels. It contributes to improving the quality of service to the public. Members of the Forum are people of standing and experience drawn from the public, private and voluntary sectors, as well as some who can speak for service users and carers.
